The pop/rock quartet Lifehouse featured singer/songwriter Jason Wade, who originally tagged the band Blyss during the group's conception in 1996. After playing in various music scenes in Seattle and Portland, Wade brought Lifehouse to life in Los Angeles. Their thick sound was compared to Live and Matchbox Twenty, but Wade insisted Lifehouse was entirely original. He soon became recognized for his thought-provoking lyrics and deep vocals. They inked a deal with Dreamworks after years of gigging in L.A., and released their debut album No Name Facein fall 2000.

You and Me Lyrics

Lifehouse

What day is it
and in what month,
this clock never seemed so alive...
I can't keep up,
and I can't back down,
I've been losing so much time.

'Cause it's you and me,
and all other people with nothing to do, nothing to lose.
And it's you and me,
and all other people.
And I don't know why,
I can't keep my eyes off of you...

Of all other things,
I just want to say that you're still coming all right.
I'm tripping on words,
You've got my head spinning and I don't know where to go from here.

'Cause it's you and me,
and all other people with nothing to do, nothing to prove.
And it's you and me,
and all other people.
And I don't know why,
I can't keep my eyes off of you...

There's something about you now,
that I can't quite figure out.
Everything she does is beautiful,
And everything she does is right.

'Cause it's you and me,
and all other people with nothing to do, nothing to lose.
And it's you and me,
and all other people.
And I don't know why,
I can't keep my eyes off of

You and me,
and all other people with nothing to do, nothing to prove.
And it's you and me,
and all other people.
And I don't know why,
I can't keep my eyes off of you...

What day is it
and in what month,
this clock never seemed so alive...
