The pop/rock quartet Lifehouse featured singer/songwriter Jason Wade, who originally tagged the band Blyss during the group's conception in 1996. After playing in various music scenes in Seattle and Portland, Wade brought Lifehouse to life in Los Angeles. Their thick sound was compared to Live and Matchbox Twenty, but Wade insisted Lifehouse was entirely original. He soon became recognized for his thought-provoking lyrics and deep vocals. They inked a deal with Dreamworks after years of gigging in L.A., and released their debut album No Name Facein fall 2000.

The Edge Lyrics

Lifehouse

I was blowing in the wind
And I can see the sun setting on the hill
Its almost gone and then hills are greener than Ive ever seen
And this feels too real to me
Just to know the change
Now dont let me leave this moment
Hold me in this place
Where everything is clearer than of all before
And everything makes sense
When you say
Stand on the edge
And dont be afraid to fall
Take a breath and tell me what you see
And you say
Stand on the edge
And dont be afraid to fall
Take a breathe and tell me what you see
As we sat down by the water
In my mind I felt a gentle breeze blew soft against my face
And we talked for hours
It didnt seem to matter what about
As long as I was there with you
Yeah and show me why
It is to believe in something greater than I cant understand
And show me why it is to believe
When you say
Stand on the edge
And dont be afraid to fall
Take a breath and tell me what you see
And you say
Stand on the edge of tomorrow
Dont close your eyes
Take a look around you
Tell me what you see
Tell me what you see
Tell me what you see
And you say stand on the edge
And dont be afraid to fall
Take a breath and tell me what you see
And you say
Stand on the edge and dont be afraid to fall
Take a breath and tell me what you see
Tell me what you see
Tell me what you see
When you say
Stand on the edge and dont be afraid to fall
Take a breath and tell me what you see
And you say stand on the edge of tomorrow
Dont close your eyes
Take a look around you, tell me what you see
Tell me what you see
